NILES — The Illinois Racing Board has approved a request for an off-track betting parlor in Niles. By a 9-1 vote Tuesday, the board gave permission to Inter-Track Partners LLC to operate a 26,500-square-foot OTB parlor at the Golf Mill shopping center.
UNDATED Voters in West Memphis and Hot Springs approved local ballot items that will allow additional forms of gambling at racetracks in those cities.
Voters in two small Ohio communities on Tuesday strongly approved casino-related agreements their local governments made with the Eastern Shawnee Indian tribe, which is trying to overcome state and federal hurdles against gambling in Ohio.
