Pennsylvania regulators hear casino proposals
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Two of the gambling industry’s best-known names slugged it out before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Friday, presenting starkly different visions of what they intend for the neighboring cities of Allentown and Bethlehem.

- Up to the 1960s, Nevada was plagued by teamster financing, hidden ownership, employment of individuals of questionable character and background, and the clear links to organized crime.
- The first World Series of Poker was held in downtown Las Vegas at the Horseshoe Casino back in 1970. Then owner of the Horseshoe Jack Binion, hosted the very first one and has agreed to host upcoming World Series of Poker Tournament Circuit. Jack Binion said that is purely honorary and plans on doing other types deals and events in the future.

The committee was chaired by Senator Estes Kefauver, and the committee is also known by his name.
