Legion never operated on public donations
As a past commander of Bandera Post 157 of the American Legion, I don’t recall the post ever operating on public donations. Through a successful bingo program and various fundraising events, we were able to maintain our post and auxiliary programs.

- Las Vegas in Nevada owes its success to the mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who organized gaming and bookmaking operations for The Mob (the Mafia).
