Orange County casino partner says it’s still committed to project

FRENCH LICK, Ind. (AP) Bloomington-based Cook Group Inc., the co-developer of the $382 million Orange County casino, says it remains committed to the project despite an ongoing legal dispute with its casino partner.

Casino gambling facts:

• One of the oldest casinos in Europe, at Baden Baden in Germany, was opened in 1748 by Edouard Benazet, who employed Parisian craftsmen to design the stylish rooms.
• The first games that we would recognize as modern roulette were introduced in Paris casinos around the end of the 18th century. In the mid 19th century the single zero game was invented in France, this reduced the casino's edge thereby increasing the odds of the player.
• The first airplane flight to Las Vegas was made in May, 1920, with Lieutenant Randall Henderson, editor of the Blythe, California Herald, and Jack Beckley.
