Gambling board asks for moratorium on gambling expansion
Members of the Maine Gambling Control Board are calling for a delay before any more casino-style gambling facilities are authorized in the state.

1912: The Majestic - Las Vegas's very first theater - opens, featuring the best vaudeville acts and motion pictures of the time. - Video Poker machines were introduced in the 1970s, when an oil embargo had a negative impact on Vegas revenues. The machines were popular enough to spark a recovery in casino business.
