Rhode Island voters rejected a constitutional amendment Tuesday that would have allowed the Narragansett Indian Tribe and a Las Vegas-based gambling firm to build a casino in West Warwick, R.I. The vote marked the third major defeat on the gambling issue for the tribe and its corporate partner, Harrah’s Entertainment.

A building meant for bingo games and raffles has been turned over to the City of Dunbar. Known as the “bingo and raffle building,” the structure has been used and maintained by Dunbar’s athletic boosters for the past 21 years.
