Golfers shout ‘Bingo!’ for Pacific Games fundraising
With the 2007 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa, closing in, some of Guam’s sports federations have fundraising activities planned. And while some federations have inked in their travel calendars, others have no plans of making the trip.

Gambling history facts:
- In 1911 US legislation prohibited stud poker but ruled that draw poker was a game of skill and therefore was not illegal.
- Gaming is now the States' favorite pastime. More individuals gamble than the combined total of those attending movies, sports, music events, theme parks and live entertainment.
- Catholics were found to be more likely to gamble than Protestants and other religious groups. Catholics were also found to be less likely to disapprove of gambling than other religious groups.
- The most popular form of charitable gambling is bingo. In California, bingo is the only charitable game that is legal.
