Bill that could revive casino passes 1st hurdle
AUSTIN — El Paso’s Tigua Indians moved one step closer to resuming gaming at their Speaking Rock Casino on Tuesday. The House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence voted 6-1 to adopt a bill that would allow federally recognized Indian tribes to conduct gambling on tribal lands.
