Despite casinos, lawmakers told commission needed to help tribes
When people think of American Indians living in Connecticut, the glitzy and financially successful casinos owned by the Mashantucket Pequots and Mohegans typically come to mind.

- The MGM Grand, situated on the a Las Vegas strip has come up with a brand new slogan to promote the casino, "Think of all the New Year's resolutions you'll break." Some say it might even rival the famous Las Vegas catchphrase, "What happens here, stays here."

- Dog racing (a race among greyhounds who chase after a mechanical rabbit) operates in 17 states. Jai-alai (a game similar to handball) is legal in just three: Connecticut, Florida, and Rhode Island.
