Bingo defendants say state has no evidence
DAYTON Three defendants accused in a multimillion-dollar bingo scam set up phony operating accounts for each of the charities they raised money for in order to divert bingo revenues to their pockets and those of their business associates, prosecutors said Wednesday in opening statements.

Gambling history facts:
- The first legal lottery in the twentieth century was the New Hampshire Sweepstakes which began on March 12, 1964. Currently 37 states and the District of Columbia operate lotteries.
- French mathematicians Pierre de Fermat and Blaise Pascal explored the mathematics of gambling, leading to the formulation of Pascal's theory of probability in 1654.

Construction begins on the long awaited Hoover Dam. - The first World Series of Poker was held in downtown Las Vegas at the Horseshoe Casino back in 1970. Then owner of the Horseshoe Jack Binion, hosted the very first one and has agreed to host upcoming World Series of Poker Tournament Circuit. Jack Binion said that is purely honorary and plans on doing other types deals and events in the future.
