Tribe urges passage of gambling bill

AUSTIN - On the eve of another House debate on gambling, leaders of the Alabama-Coushatta tribe of East Texas on Tuesday urged the legalization of limited casinos on American Indian land to spur economic growth.

  • Gambling became legalized in Vegas in 1931 by Mayme V. Stocker and J.H. Morgan who was issued Clark County Gaming License No. 1.
