Rebecca Holly started Lava Java six summers ago as a coffee shop.

By the time the autumn winds were blowing, Holly had doubled the space, put in a kitchen and added meals — because customers suggested it.

Holly has continued that philosophy, and today at Lava Java Coffee House and Bistro, you can dine on grilled salmon, attend a wine tasting, listen to jazz and the blues, play poker, hold a meeting, solve a murder mystery and, oh yeah, still get a fresh cup of coffee brewed from beans roasted in the shop by Holly or general manager Shelin Wilder.
