Lakefront country estates blossom in Carnation
A sign on the American Legion Hall announces Bingo on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bicycles lean up against the fence next to Pete’s Grill and Pub, where cyclists take breaks and consult their maps. A car turns into Sandy’s Espresso, the only drive-through coffee shop in town. A couple strolls past City Hall, an old clapboard building spiffed up with bright pine green paint and red door and awnings.

There is also the stunning Valley of Fire which is 1 hour away from Las Vegas.
