Man opens fire in Las Vegas casino; 4 people hurt
LAS VEGAS A man standing on a walkway over the New York-New York casino gambling floor opened fire on the gamblers below early this morning, wounding four people before he was tackled by officers and patrons, police say.

- French mathematicians Pierre de Fermat and Blaise Pascal explored the mathematics of gambling, leading to the formulation of Pascal's theory of probability in 1654.
