DETROIT — Detroit’s three casinos Friday won a temporary restraining order against the Michigan Gaming Control Board that nixes the state’s threat to close casinos temporarily if Lansing lawmakers can’t reach an agreement on a new budget by Monday.
WATERTOWN, Mass. - Pauline LaCava can rattle off locations of bingo games that closed in her hometown as fast as she can scan her bingo sheet, dabbing pink ink marks on numbers as they’re called at Saint Patrick Church in Watertown.
One year ago a desperate group of Boys and Girls Clubs supporters knew they had to do something to save the Johnstown and Galeton clubs, so they started a bingo fundraiser.
“Knowing that Pennsylvania was going online soon with their slots, we knew that would hurt us. We’ve worked hard to get to the level we’re at now.”

Casting is complete for the upcoming world premiere of Adam Rapp’s Bingo with the Indians at The Flea Theater.
Anne Catherine Venne of Langhorne worked in partnership with her late husband of 61 years, Clarence, and they were the founders and owners of Clarence J. Venne Inc. the world’s largest manufacturer of Dab-O-Ink bingo markers.
Legislators say they will introduce bills to outlaw electronic bingo machines in Walker County, where authorities are investigating whether documentation to legitimize the so-called charity operations was forged.
