Foes of Calif. Gambling Deals Turn In Signatures
Opponents of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s deals with four Indian casino tribes — which would substantially increase the number of slot machines in the state — began the process of turning in signatures Oct. 5. They hope to challenge the compacts in the upcoming February primary election.

Gambling casinos history:
- Charles Fey invented the first slot machine way back in 1895. He went on to perfect his initial innovation in 1907, when he teamed with Mills Novelty Company who manufactured the "Mills Liberty Bell".
