Betting shops open in Good Friday first
Thousands of betting shops in England, Scotland and Wales will today open for the first time on a Good Friday. The move follows the Gambling Act 2005, which came into force last year, which allows bookmakers to open every day except Christmas.

- Las Vegas in Nevada owes its success to the mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who organized gaming and bookmaking operations for The Mob (the Mafia).
- The famous banker J.P. Morgan once walked out of a Monte Carlo casino because the stakes were too low?
