Momentum gathers for first ever “international minimum standards” on responsible gaming
Following its introduction at the European Interactive Gaming Expo in October, the International Responsible Gambling Code of Conduct continues to gather pace as it receives support from key industry bodies such as the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) eCOGRA and the Interactive Gaming Council (IGC) who have contributed to the Codes development.

Gambling history facts:
- Gambling became legalized in Vegas in 1931 by Mayme V. Stocker and J.H. Morgan who was issued Clark County Gaming License No. 1.
- Poker is derived from the Persian game of "as nar" and was probably based on the dice game "tali", which was played by the Romans.
- Casino gambling, including Indian gaming, is legal in 27 states and most of the casinos have been built in the last 5 years according to "America's Gambling Fever", U. S. News and World Report, 15 Jan 1996
- In Paris, legislation prohibiting playing cards was passed in 1377, and in Italy, playing cards and dice were burned.
