Eight months ago, BetCRIS, a Costa Rican based company, set up shop in Rwanda. This was for one simple reason: to introduce sports betting in the country, something that was hitherto unheard of in Rwanda.

It turns into an epic five-month poker match, laying the foundations for the World Series of Poker. - As early as 1420, lotteries were used in Europe for public works. High-value commodities such as land and art were often sold through lotteries.
- Horse racing is the best known and widespread parimutuel betting event. Horse racing is the only form of partimutuel wagering legal in California.
- The name of the game "Poker" likely descended from the French poque, which descended from the German pochen ("to knock"), but it is not clear whether the games named by those terms were the real origins of poker.
