Police official, bodyguard ambushed
TIJUANA Gunmen ambushed a top police commander and his bodyguard late Friday, killing the latter, as they drove through the heart of the Rio Zone business district of Tijuana. Police Chief Julian Leyzaola said yesterday that Hector Eligio Alcantar, commander of the city’s central district, was targeted after arresting a fellow officer suspected of ties to organized crime.
