RM1 MILLION DAILY IN ILLEGAL GAMBLING BETS IN MALAYSIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) — Illegal gambling bets in Malaysia amount to RM1 million per day, while yearly it is estimated at RM125.8 million, said Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin.

Gambling casinos history:
- The most popular forms of illegal games are "numbers", which is essentially a lottery, and betting with bookies, typically sports betting.
- Legal gambling operations in Washington reported $1.7 billion in net receipts in 2005: 61 percent was reported by tribal casinos, 10 percent came from the state lottery. 2 percent of responders in a February state survey said they placed bets online.
- Video Poker machines were introduced in the 1970s, when an oil embargo had a negative impact on Vegas revenues. The machines were popular enough to spark a recovery in casino business.
- The second oldest casino hotel resort on the Las Vegas Strip was the Last Frontier and it opened in October of 1942. It had 105 guestrooms and the property was made to look like an old western town. The first casino hotel resort opened just 18 months earlier and was called El Rancho.
