With several big games taking place tonight, such as Game 3 of the World Series and the showdown between USC and Oregon, Notre Dame finds itself in a rare position of not getting much attention. Tonight’s game between the Irish and Washington State has barely registered a blip on anybody’s radar.
Of course that may have something to do with the fact that Washington State is bad. Extremely bad, which is why they are nearly four touchdown underdogs to Notre Dame.
The Yankees and the Phillies return to action tonight, as Andy Pettite faces Cole Hamels. Hamels, the World Series MVP last year, clearly hasn’t been the same pitcher he was a year ago and struggled nearly all season.
The battle between Oregon and USc should be a great one to watch. The Trojans are favored by three on the road and will have to work hard to contain Jeremiah Masoli. Eugene is a tough place to play, but it’s been several years to find USC favored by as little as a field goal. The Ducks defeated USC in Eugene the last time the teams met there.
