A private member’s bill by NDP MP Joe Comartin has paved the way for the Criminal Code to be amended to allow single-game wagering on football, hockey, baseball, soccer, basketball and other sports.

“All In — The Poker Movie” will get an advance screening next Tuesday by Westport producer/director Doug Tirola at the Avon Theater in Stamford.

Joe Comartin’s bill to legalize single-event sports betting passed its third reading in the House of Commons today and is headed to the Senate for debate.
