Atlantic City's casinos lost 7.4 percent in operating profits in 2011
Atlantic City recently lost its status as the nation's No. 2 casino market to Pennsylvania.

Gambling casinos history:
- Dice games have existed in one form or another for over 2000 years and were originally played with dice fashioned from the knucklebones of sheep.
- In Paris, legislation prohibiting playing cards was passed in 1377, and in Italy, playing cards and dice were burned.

So, to curb their suspicions, management decided to use a "dealing box" which is currently known as a shoe.
